Fujisei Horiuchi produces events that showcase products from Aomori, including local specialties like apples and black garlic as well as products made using the finest of Aomori ingredients from both land and sea.
These special events are held at large supermarket chains such as Ito Yokado and inside of JR train stations across the greater Tokyo metropolitan area. Our events offer a chance to experience flavors of Aomori in parts of the country where they usually are not available, and can include product demos where customers get a chance to try freshly made specialties such as dried shredded squid.
Be sure to check our Facebook page for the latest information on event locations and times.

Fujisei Horiuchi Co., Ltd. was originally founded in 1919 as a confectionery wholesaler in Aomori, Japan. In 2012, after nearly a century of service, Fujisei Horiuchi decided to use its expertise of regional specialties to develop its own original products—baked confectioneries, jellies, and more—all of which use only the best local ingredients.
Aomori Prefecture grows more apples than anywhere else in Japan, and they feature prominently in many of our products, which are popular in Japan and abroad as gifts and souvenirs. We also use chestnuts, which have long been consumed in Japan, as well as black currant, of which Aomori is also Japan’s number one producer. We have also developed our Gateau Poco a Poco serious of sweets, which are made using the finest local ingredients Aomori has to offer.
Fujisei Horiuchi also owns and operates a number of cafés around Aomori, including the Bunaco Café inside of our Nishimeya studio and our Flat Café located on the first floor of the Fuyokai Murakami Hospital.
The Bunaco Café sits inside of Bunaco’s Nishimeya Studio, a beautiful, refurbished former elementary school in the small village of Nishimeya, which sits at the entrance to the Shirakami Sanchi UNESCO World Heritage Site. The relaxing, Scandinavia-inspired space is filled with original Bunaco lighting and speakers in addition to an oversized Aomori Prefecture-shaped table custom made by artist Shigeru Uchida. The Bunaco Café is the perfect place to enjoy a drink, meal, or snack after taking a tour of the Bunaco factory.
